The BirdTrax gadget will display all the eBird sightings of birds reported in Newton Massachusetts and surrounding area for the past two weeks. The gadget is interactive and you can click on a given species, location, or the "+" symbol for more information. The tabs across the top also let you search for rarities and for all checklists. The area covered is based on a 6 kilometer radius based in Newton Highlands, shown below (map came from here). I thought this area best described Newton birding locations and immediately adjacent locations of interest (including Millennium Park, Lost Pond, Chestnut Hill Reservoir, and Forest Grove Reservation) without including other major birding locations that are decidedly not in the Newton area, like Mt. Auburn.
